The Nibbler!

This is a very cool tool. An alternative to a jewelry saw for cutting out windows in  metal. To begin, I punched a 3/8 hole in the metal with my disc cutter. This allowed a large enough opening to insert the nibbler and begin. If you don't own a disc cutter, you can drill the 3/8 hole. Much easier to use a disc cutter if you own one.

Now follow the window shape outline that you made prior with a black sharpie. Every once in a while, a little piece of metal might get jammped in the nibbler and you will have trouble sqeezing the handle. All you need to do is unscrew the screw at the top and remove the plate with a screwdriver and tap the tool. This will do the trick!

This window was cut with the Nibbler.  Photo compliments of Jeanette Blix Ryan.
