Stunning hand dyed Shibori Ribbon from Shibori Girl Studio, Glennis Dolce.
Shibori is a Japanese term for several methods of dyeing cloth with a pattern by binding, stitching, folding, twisting, or compressing it.

This technique is applied to 4” bias cut 100% silk satin ribbon, which is carefully pole wrapped and dyed and over-dyed multiple times to create stunning, vibrant color variations between the pleats and throughout the ribbon resulting a three dimensional work of art!

Both the color and texture is steam set rendering the color washfast and lightfast and the pleating semi-permanent. You may wish to alter the texture with a light shot of steam from your iron or remove it completely by ironing flat on a silk steam setting to reveal the lovely shibori dye pattern.

Bias cut ribbon is made using fabric and is cut in strips at a 45 degree angle to the woven edge. The strips are joined to form a continuous "ribbon". So your continuance piece MAY or WILL have a seam somewhere in its length. This cannot be avoided. The edge are raw but since cut the the 45 degree angle to not unravel but will fray.
